Lisa, for real
You may find me in line ahead of you at the grocery store, or in the car that just passed you, but I am a regular person, just like most white American professional women with all my privilege and foot in the door that majority of the world does not share. I am a Christian but slightly different from the stereotype as I am a feminist, and a radical one. I try to be as inclusive and respectful of all people, regardless of their faith, traditions, age, culture, disability, gender, ability, family of origin, birthplace, primary language, sexual orientation or frame of reference. I fail miserably in living this as I desire. Women’s Rights are Human Rights, Black Lives Matter, and Climate Change is real. I believe we can make a difference in this world if we respect one another. I write my musings because I like to and have been repeatedly told to put my words, thoughts, sermons and prayers on paper. This is my attempt to do so. My writing is not meant to represent the associations in my life: The United States, the United Methodist Church, Perkins School of Theology alum, Democrat, National Organization of Women, etc. My writing is informed by these things but I do not write for any of those distinctions. I write from a deeper level and hope to reach a deeper level for those who are open minded and chose to read what is here. My current employer is intentionally not listed here as my words are not their words and I fully believe in freedom of speech regardless of how the bills are paid. In comments, if a reference to my employer is made, it will be deleted. My ultimate employer is the Creator of all and I am UMC ordained.
